Happy 4th of July: Berry Sparkler Cocktail
Berry Sparkler Cocktail
Here’s a tasty and visually enticing 4th of July cocktail – Berry Sparkler Cocktails! Make them this year as you celebrate our country’s independence – they are sure to wow all your guests! In fact, they’ll think they are berry good:)
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
2 T blueberry liquor
1/3 c lemon juice
1 T sugar
1 ounce vodka or gin
1/2 c strawberries
1 T Chambord
Sparkling water to taste, Extra strawberries and blueberries for garnish. Sparklers if desired.
For the garnish: Cut an inch or so off the metal handle end of a sparkler using wire cutters. Thread strawberries and blueberries onto the remaining handle. Make a small cut into a strawberry so it will rest on the rim of the glass. NOTE: we do NOT recommend eating the fruit that has touched the sparkler. Sparklers are not designed to be food safe and we recommend care in consuming edibles that have come into contact with them. But they are SO PRETTY….
For the Cocktail: In three separate containers muddle or mix the ingredients for each of the three layers of the drink. Divide the blueberry mixture between the two glasses. Top with a layer of ice (preferably crushed). Gently pour in the lemon mixture. Pouring over the back of a spoon gently add the red mixture and follow that with sparkling water to taste. Light the sparkling garnish and ooh and ahhh! Be very careful as the sparkler will still be hot after it has gone out.
Happy 4th of July, CHEERS!
