Valentine’s Day Macarons
This year we find ourselves recovering (still!) from the hubbub of the holidays, birthdays, and the bitter, bitter cold. For me (The Hare), Valentine’s day is a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel, the very first glimmer that winter is coming to a close.
Macarons are just lovely, and there’s always something special about them. So, in the midst of our days that are finally getting longer, I encourage you to take some time to make something tasty and share it with someone you love!
I’ve found no better explanation of the complexities of macarons than this fantastic post by Bravetart. I absolutely trust and respect her recipes, she has never let me down! For my Valentine’s treats I used pistachios for the shells and made a grapefruit curd filling, and a dark chocolate ganache filling.
This recipe was approved by my Valentine Mr. Hare, so give it a try!
Happy Valentine’s – and all our love,
